Vera Wilson
Hello, I'm Vera Wilson. I have been happily helping people buy and sell
real estate in the Duncan area since 1972.
Needless to say I know the area well and also understand all the ins and
outs of the real estate business. I am consistently one of the areas top
producing Realtors and have received many Vancouver Island Real Estate Board
awards for outstanding sales achievements including eight Medallion Awards. I
also have qualified for the BC Real Estate Association Market Value
Appraisers (Residential) designation.
My proudest achievement, however, was to be honored by being chosen as
Vancouver Island Real Estate Board's REALTOR OF THE YEAR in 2000. This is
awarded each year to one person who has gained respect not only through
their level of professionalism and the quality of the real estate service
they provide, but also their commitment and involvement in the real estate
industry and community service.
More importantly, I have a wonderful group of highly satisfied clients
who come back to me year after year and who recommend me to their friends
and family for caring and experienced service.
I was born in the North of England, and after completing college taught
school. I spent five years in Germany teaching in the BOAR schools program and
my two children were born there - at Eiserlohn hospital, familiar to many
Canadians who served over there. I came to the Cowichan Valley as a teacher
in 1967 - and how lucky I was to find such a wonderful place to live. Apart
from the climate and the beautiful scenery, the Cowichan Valley offers so
many other things.
Apart from my busy occupation as a Realtor I am a longtime member of the
Cowichan Musical Society, I sing in the Opus One choir and am an active
member and Past President of the Duncan Business and Professional Women's
Club. I am Past President of the Board of the Cowichan United Way, Past
Campaign Chair, and for a number of years, have been Chair of the
Allocations Committee, as well as organizing special events for the
campaign. In 1992 I was voted "Woman of the Year" based on my
community involvement. If you are thinking of buying or selling real estate
in the Duncan area (I do business from Mill Bay and Shawnigan Lake in the
south right on up to Chemainus, Ladysmith and Cedar, and as far west as Lake
